PF Events help bring Oktoberfest to London

Oktoberfest, the legendary German beer festival, was recreated in the UK for the first time at the end of September in London's Shoreditch Park. The 2-week run took place in a huge 2000 capacity big top tent, and PF Events were contracted as sole technical suppliers.

With traditional German music, German beer and German food all on offer, this was as close as you could get to the real Oktoberfest in Germany. The punters lapped it up accordingly, and the venue was completely full on both weekends of the 2-week run.

Due to the venue being situated in a densely populated residential area, before the event's license was granted, PF Events were required to produce a detailed noise management plan for the event. Based on the noise management plan, the license was subsequently granted, but with stringent noise restrictions being placed on the license.

PF Events were able to maximise these noise restrictions inside the venue by flying 8 delayed Noise Control Audio Asym3 mid top speakers from truss at specific points around the venue. This provided an even distribution of sound throughout the venue whilst maintaining a lower volume at the nearest residential properties at all times.

Along with the flown speakers, PF Events also installed 4 stacks of Noise Control Audio I-Fly and 6 Noise Control Audio VSB218 subwoofers at FOH. A 26ft x 16ft stage was also supplied along with a basic stage lighting set up. PF Events were also contracted to supply all the power for the event, including the entire bar and catering power required.
