Oktoberfest 2011

From 22nd September until 2nd October 2011, PF Events supplied audio, lighting, staging, power and technical management for the first ever UK based Oktoberfest event. The event took place from Thursday to Sunday for a 2-week run inside a big top tent in Shoreditch Park, London, and featured traditional German music.
With Shoreditch Park being surrounded by residential properties, there were strict noise restrictions imposed on the license for the event. In order to maximise the restrictions, PF Events wrote the initial noise management plan for the event which proposed that mid top speakers were flown at specific points around the tent. This provided an even distribution of sound throughout, therefore maintaining a lower volume at the nearest residential properties at all times. PF Events were able to successfully negotiate the strict license restrictions throughout the event without relinquishing a good sound quality at any point.
PF Events installed 4 stacks of Noise Control Audio I-Fly, 6 Noise Control Audio VSB218 subwoofers and 8 delayed Noise Control Audio Asym3 mid top speakers flown from truss. 5 Noise Control Audio SM15 stage monitors were also installed. This was all powered by a FFA amp rack.
A basic stage lighting set up consisting of six bars of 6x Par64s providing a stage wash, two Source 4 Profiles providing a stage spot, four James Thomas 4 lite spot bank and one Le Maitre MVS hazer. This was controlled using a Showtec Showmaster 24 channel lighting desk and a Zero88 Betapack 3 6 channel dimmer rack.
PF Events also installed a 26ft x 16ft stage with four 8ft x 4ft PA risers. Some of the speakers and lighting was flown from a ground support truss around the stage.
As well as audio, lighting and staging, PF Events were also contracted to supply all the power for the event. With an industrial sized catering and bar setup being brought over from Europe, PF Events were required to accommodate for numerous European power standards. A 350kva generator was installed to supply power for the catering and bar. PF Events also installed a 250kva generator which covered the PA, lighting and house power. Full power distribution was also supplied throughout.
